What to expect when line dancing for the first time?

My friends and I are going line dancing and I was wondering what to expect. Do I need to learn dances before I go? Is there dancing with partners? Etc etc, please give me a ton of info :)

1. The whole deal on line dances is that you don't need a partner. No one does. Everyone is dancing in lines. They'll teach the dances or you just follow what everyone else is doing. They're very basic steps usually and easy to pick up.
