Line Dance Steps

Contemporary line dance?

Hey, does anyone know what contemporary line dance is? There's a class for it and it says it's a high energy, fast and funky. Also, country music has nothing to do with this style of line dance. Does anybody know what exactly it is?

1. modern line dance is done to about 25% country music and the balance is a mix of other things: modern pop, jazz, opera, oldies music, hip hop, rap, etc. it is still line dancing, which includes waltz, 2 step, nightclub 2 step, cha cha, mambo, rumbo, etc., but done to different types of music besides country. I live in northern california and we are doing line dancing to a lot of latin music right now. everything cycles through - music, style of dances, a particular word in the name of a dance, etc. we are also doing a lot of "crying" dances - cry to me, when I cry, I won't be crying.......
