Line Dance Steps

What is a good Christmas line-dancing song?

I am going to teach my fifth-graders a line dance song to perform at the Christmas Concert. I'm looking for a catchy, up-beat, holiday tune. Suggestions?

  1. There is always Brenda Lee's "Rockin Around The Christmas Tree" which you can find on "Brenda Lee Christmas" album Travis TRitt's "Winter Wonderland" has a good beat for line dancing as does "Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy". Both can be found on the album A Travis Tritt Christmas: Loving Time of the Year Toby Keith's "Christmas Rock" (Christmas to Christmas album) would also be good or again, "Winter Wonderland" (Classic Christmas Vol 1) George Strait's "Merry Christmas Straight To You" could work with simple steps or "Christmas Cookies" Another one might be "When It's Christmas Time In Texas". They are on his album "Merry Christmas Strait To You" Alan Jackson's "Honky Tonk Christmas" would be good for line dancing though the actual subject might be too mature for fifth graders since it is talking about he'll be in the honky tonks on Christmas and over his girlfriend by New Year's Eve" but Alan did do a Christmas song with the chipmunks called "Santa's Gonna Come In A Pickup Truck" which might be cute for fifth graders. They could incorporate a little acting in with the line dancing.
