How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
This question has been asked through the centuries but you never hear what type of dancing is being considered. Many of the dance types require quite a bit of room e.g. Line dancing while others such as the Twist require very little room. Does anyone know which particular dance step should be used when doing the calculations?

- it's a metaphoric question
- But can they do the Limbo? Theologically speaking.
- Since angels don't exist... I guess the question is moot.

- As many as need to dance on the head of a pin. The idea behind the original question was a very serious theological debate over whether angels have any kind of physical existence. Do they take up space? Or do they only exist in a "spirit" form, outside of the lines of time and space? The idea of angels dancing on a pin's head was a sarcastic way to mock the idea that angels had physical substance. It is a good enough picture that it has remained in popular culture for over a thousand years. As this question was first poses in the Middle Ages, odds are that neither line dancing nor the Twist were considered as neither dance style had been invented yet.
- I agree with dewcoons answer.
